These are digital repositories where documents, photographs, photos, videos, audio recordings and other cultural heritage are stored and remain accessible online. They can be used by researchers, educators and tourists to work with materials regardless of their travel destinations.

Digitizing is not enough. Materials need to be systematized, described, classified and searchable. It is important to add metadata: title, author, date, place, description, keywords, source and information about the use of rights.

These are thematically combined digital materials: for example, “Kyiv of the early 20th century”, “Traditional embroidery of Poltava region”, “Wooden architecture of Ukraine”. Collections can be used in online exhibitions, educational projects, virtual tours and tourism
