About Project
The project “Women-princesses who influenced the development of Kyiv as the cradle of European civilization” is aimed at establishing historical justice regarding the development of the statehood of Ukraine as a European state, using the example of the development of the city of Kyiv in the 11th century. through the influence of the magnificent women-princesses and the family of Yaroslav the Wise.
The project is planned to be implemented in three stages:
Historical research to establish historical justice and gain knowledge about the visualization of historical characters. Because European states had family ties with Ukraine in the 11th century, which took place at least 100 years before the founding of Moscow.
Creation of a digital product (digitization of women-princesses)
Development of cultural diplomacy. Considering that the result of the project will be a digital tourist and cultural product, presentations and the formation of a community around the project are planned, with the aim of promoting Ukrainian culture.
The photo shows the female (northern) part of the princely portrait of St. Sophia Cathedral. The original preserved fresco (in color) is superimposed on the drawing of the princely portrait by Abraham van Westerfeld from 1651. It was made by the artist-restorer of the National Museum of Fine Arts Dorat Kaporikov.
